Memorial Day 2018 – Remembering Lt. Augusto M. Xavier

As far as I’m concerned secular America has a single holy day, and it’s today. While the day has devolved into a day off to swim, shop or barbecue I think it’s important to remember and give thanks to those who gave everything so that we would be free.

Today I’d like to thank Lt Augusto M. Xavier.

Lt. Augusto M. Xavier was born in California on May 26, 1941. According to the Virtual Wall Project 1LT Augusto Xavier, flying an A-4C SKYHAWK, on March 10, 1966 was killed while flying close air support for the A Shau Special Forces Camp. He was 24. His body has never been recovered.

Two days ago Lt. Xavier would have turned 77 years old.

As you go about your day shopping or barbecuing, take a moment and thank Lt. Xavier for the sacrifice he made. Honor and remember him in your own way.
